Reception and administration

We rely on volunteers to undertake reception and basic administration work at our main Canterbury office. Tasks involve greeting clients who attend at the office, answering telephone calls, simple form completion with clients and basic data entry.

If you’re interested and would like more information, please email chair@chac.co.uk.

Housing support volunteers

We welcome volunteers who can provide two days a week helping clients complete forms and applications online or on paper such as housing benefit, council tax support, housing needs register (housing waiting list for accommodation). Experience in the sector is preferred, but not essential – if you know how form-filling works and have an eye for detail, that will be sufficient.

If you’re interested and would like more information, please email chair@chac.co.uk.

Become a trustee

We’re often looking for new trustees, particularly those with skills and experience in the areas of charitable fundraising, housing and benefits law and practice, and advice centres. The committee meets every other month, and there are also opportunities for trustees to take on additional responsibilities and to get involved in the running of the Centre (for example by helping out with reception and administration).

To express interest or for more information about being a trustee at CHAC, please email chair@chac.co.uk.
